The Milk Sea

We are sailing through the Indian Ocean aboard the Nautilus. The water outside the window has turned a ghostly, glowing white! It looks like a sea of milk stretching as far as the eye can see.
I explain to Conseil that this is caused by millions of tiny, glowing creatures called infusoria. It is a beautiful, peaceful sight, but the calm does not last long.
Captain Nemo enters the room. "Professor," he says, "We are approaching the island of Ceylon. Would you like to visit the famous pearl fisheries?"
He warns us that sharks are common there, but offers us a chance to see a pearl worth millions.
