A Terrified Client

It is early April in 1883. You are Dr. Watson, waking up to find Sherlock Holmes standing by your bed. A young lady has arrived in a state of utter terror.
Downstairs, Helen Stoner sits shivering by the fire. She tells you of her stepfather, the violent Dr. Grimesby Roylott, and the mysterious death of her twin sister, Julia, two years ago. Julia died in a locked room, screaming about a "speckled band" just after hearing a low whistle.
Now, Helen is about to be married, and her stepfather has forced her to move into the very room where Julia died. Last night, Helen heard the whistle again.
"It is fear, Mr. Holmes," she whispers. "It is terror."
