The Sovereign's Command

The bronze tiger tally rests heavy in your hand—the symbol of your sovereign's trust. You are General Wei. The State of Ch'in has laid siege to the vital town of O-yu. Your orders are to relieve the town and drive back the invaders.

However, the enemy is strong, and the distance is great. Your scouts report that the Ch'in army is racing toward the strategic North Hill. Whoever occupies that high ground will control the battlefield.

Sun Tzu says: "The difficulty of tactical maneuvering consists in turning the devious into the direct, and misfortune into gain."

The direct route is short but predictable. The enemy watches it closely. You must decide how to deploy your forces.
