The Stench of Carfax

Loading image...

You stand before the heavy oak door of Carfax Abbey. The rusty hinges creak as Dr. Seward picks the lock. As the door swings open, a wave of foul air hits you—a mixture of earth, stagnation, and the acrid smell of old blood. It is the scent of the Count himself.

Inside, the hall is thick with dust. Dr. Van Helsing raises his lantern, illuminating the gloom. "We have a duty here," he whispers. "We must find the earth boxes and sterilize them with the Sacred Wafer. But be on guard. The enemy is strong."

From the darkness of the passage, you hear a scuttling sound. Thousands of tiny claws scratching against stone.
