You have fled the stifling air of the city for the solitude of the wilderness. Here, among the giant firs and hollow thunders of the storm, you feel a connection to the Spirit Sublime. You gave thanks to the Spirit for revealing Nature's grand kingdom to you, allowing you to gaze into her bosom as into the heart of a friend.

Yet, this ecstasy is not perfect. You are conscious that with this divine gift, you were also tethered to him—the cold, scornful companion who now approaches through the undergrowth.

Mephistopheles steps into your sanctuary, a sneer upon his face.

"Have you not led this life quite long enough?" he asks, mocking your meditation. "How can a further test delight you? 'Tis very well that once one tries the stuff, but something new must then requite you."
