Autumn has come to the mountain. The air is crisp, and the fir trees rustle in the wind. You, Heidi, are excited because a visitor has arrived! It is the kind Doctor from Frankfurt.
Sadly, your friend Clara was too sick to travel this year. The Doctor has come alone. He looks very sad, for he has lost his own daughter and misses her terribly. He sits on the bench outside the hut, looking at the ground.
"The world is beautiful," the Doctor says with a sigh, "but if one brings a sad heart up here, how can it be healed?"
