You stand on the hearth rug of Dr. Kemp's study, your unseen body aching with exhaustion. Kemp stares at you—a headless garment, a hollow dressing gown animating itself before his eyes. Outside, the night is quiet, but your mind races with the chaos of the last few days.
"I am worn out," you admit, your voice emerging from empty air. "It's grotesque, no doubt. But believe me, Kemp, it is quite a possible thing. I have made a discovery."
Kemp looks at you with a mixture of fear and scientific curiosity. "It's incredible," he stammers. "But it's real! Griffin, how... how did this happen?"
