The White Ape

You are Tarzan, a ten-year-old boy living among the great apes of the African jungle. You differ from your brothers—your skin is smooth and hairless, your face is flat, and you are physically weaker than the giant bulls like Kerchak and Tublat. Yet, your mind is sharper, and your agility in the high canopy is unmatched.
Your mother, the fierce ape Kala, loves you fiercely, but you often wonder about your origins. Today, the tribe is on the move near the coast. Two paths interest you: the cool waters of the lake where you can see your reflection, or the mysterious closed lair built of logs near the ocean—a place the other apes fear.
