You are Mowgli. You have left the Wolf Pack at Council Rock and traveled twenty miles to the lands of men. You are hungry, tired, and alone. You stand before the gate of a village, a place of mud huts and strange smells.
The villagers see you and shout. They are afraid because you look wild. A priest comes forward, and a kind woman named Messua looks closely at you. She thinks you might be her lost son, Nathoo, who was taken by a tiger long ago.
She offers you milk and bread. The priest waits for your reaction.
